Transactional Analysis (TA)
Transactional Analysis is both a theory of human personality and a system for the improvement of human relations. Its application to organisations provides a systematic approach to understanding the links between human needs and behaviours and the ways that the organisations are effective or ineffective in solving their problems and serving their customers. TA helps executives and managers of the corporate world to achieve excellence in their multifaceted organisational life. TA provides a comprehensive model to understand behavioural patterns, communication, interpersonal relationship, motivation, time management, attitudes, conflict management, and life span development for better living.
TA provides a meta model to integrate several behavioural science approaches to Organisational and Human Resource Development. Certified Transactional Analysts acquire and prove their competencies in organisational application of Transactional Analysis through an internationally recognised rigorous training ad certification process.
The professional guidelines and code of conduct of transactional analysts is governed by the International Transactional Analysis Association (ITAA) and the Training and Certification Council of Transactional Analysts (T&CC). Facilitators of Relations are accredited by and are members of several National and International Transactional Analysis Associations.
The first level of training in Transactional Analysis is the TA 101. It is a two day workshop, successful completion of which makes one eligible to become a member of the ITAA and enroll for the second level training. For those who could not attend a TA 101 workshop, written TA 101 option is also available.
The second level training in Transactional Analysis is the Certified Transactional Analyst (CTA). One may take anywhere from 3 to 6 years to become a CTA in their chosen field of specialization. AT present CTA certification is available in four fields, namely Counselling, Educational, Organisational and Psychotherapy. Relations conduct advanced training in CTA in collaboration with Asha Counselling and Training Services. Asha provides an interim option to do a Diploma in Transactional Analysis after completion of two years of training and fulfilling certain professional requirements.
The final level in Transactional Analysis professional development is the Teaching or/and Supervising Transactional Analyst (TSTA).
