Over the last 6-7 years of TA training with Suriya, I have personally and professionally grown. The shifts that have happened in both my personal and professional life has a lot to do with my training and the supervision experience. His teaching, facilitation, coaching, supervision style has been the most subtle yet very powerful insights that helped me reflect and understand TA better. He has also made time for me whenever I have needed help, when I am stuck at work and created a space for me to reflect. What was the standout for me in the training is the ecosystem that he has created with the peer group, materials etc which helped me transition into becoming a more rounded professional today.

I’ve known Suriya for close to nine years now. What comes to mind when I think about him is his empathy. His ability to connect, interact, and relate to the person or people on the other side is praiseworthy. Anyone would wish that if they were learning a new subject, they should learn from the best. And I feel so lucky that I got the opportunity to learn about TA and its application from Suriya, who is both my coach and supervisor. While his knowledge of the subject is deep, his skills in processing supervision and coaching issues have often kept us in awe. The way he helps the supervisor process the problem at hand, cut the noise from the signal, catch the key issues, bring clarity, and make the supervisor own the actions is as engaging as reading through the detective novel. With Suriya, it is not just about TA; because of the energy that he brings in, I have always gotten much more than the expectations that I would have from a coach or a supervisor. Suriya is my guru, a teacher who removes the darkness and brings in light.
